Application

The product has irritating odor. Easily soluble in ethyl alcohol, trichloromethane, acetone, toluene, and other organic solvents. It is used in synthesizing stilbene fluorescent brightener.

Usage Intermediate of pyrimethamine. In preparing p-Chlorobenzyl alcohol, p-chlorobenzaldehyde,  p-chlorobenzyl cyanide, etc.
