UV- 5411 is a unique photo stabilizer that is effective in a variety of polymeric systems: particularly in polyesters, polyvinyl chlorides, styrenics, acrylics, polycarbonates, and polyvinyl butyal. UV- 5411 is especially noted for its broad range UV absorption, low color, low volatility, and excellent solubility. Typical end-uses include molding, sheet, and glazing materials for window lighting, sign, marine and auto applications. Specialty applications for UV- 5411 include coatings (particularly themosets where low volatility is a concern), photo products, sealants, and elastomeric materials.

This product is a water-soluble ultraviolet radiation-absorbing agent with a wide spectrum and the maximum light-absorbing wavelength of 288nm.It has the advantages of high absorbing efficiency, no toxicity, and no allergy-causing and no deformity-causing side effects, good lights stability and heat stability etc. Moreover it can absorb UV-A and UV-B, being class I sun protection agent, added in cosmetics with the dosage of 5-8%.
Benzophenone-4 is a water-soluble & is recommended for the highest sun protection factors. Tests have shown that Benzophenone-4 stabilizes the viscosity of gels based on polyacrylic acid (Carbopol, Pemulen) when they are exposed to UV radiation. Concentrations as low as 0.1% provides good results. It is used as ultra-violet stabilizer in wool, cosmetics, pesticides &lithographic plate coating. It must be noted tha tBenzophenone-4is not compatible with Mg salts, particularly in water-oil emulsions. Benzophenone-4 has a yellow color that becomes more intensive in the alkaline range & may alter the due of colored solutions.
